Vocational Training: Tailoring Program
The Tailoring Training program provides women with vocational skills so that they can establish their own businesses and participate in the economic reconstruction of Iraq. During the training, women learn to take measurements, cut patterns, stitch clothing, do embroidery, and make sheets and curtains.
The graduates of the program also organize bazaars to showcase and sell items they have created. The bazaars allow the women to:
- Profit from the products they have created
- Apply marketing and management skills they have learned in the training
- Engage in community outreach, and implement the communication skills they have learned
- Increase awareness about WEP programs and further the empowerment of other women in their communities
