Reducing the impact of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder

Sri Sri’s approach to providing relief for victims of natural and man made disasters focuses on the importance of addressing a person’s mental, emotional and physical needs and health. The Art of Living Trauma Relief program gives participants the tools they need to manage their emotions and reduce the impacts of post-traumatic stress, so they can begin living normal, happy, and healthy lives.

During the workshops, participants learn powerful breathing and meditation techniques that:

  • Reduce symptoms of depression and post traumatic stress disorder
  • Decrease levels of stress
  • Heighten brain activity and energy levels
  • Strengthen immune system functioning

  • Approximately 55 trauma relief and vocational training workshops annually
  • 4 centers in Baghdad and Karbala
  • 43 Iraqi teachers
